Love Thy Neighbor

This post is about how I personally manage my neighbor’s visits. I look at it as if I were managing my city by looking for the biggest waste of energies we might encounter. Once again this is how I do it and doesn’t necessarily mean you have to as well.

The first thing I look for when I go to a neighbor’s city is builds. To me builds are a huge waste of energy when we could be using energy for goods. The next thing I would look for is harvesting crops, boats or any goods source (if you need some) as well as reviving crops or salvaging ships  that are going bad. Maybe even a mixture of all. Keep in mind we will always get one energy per 24hr period for every neighbor visited and even though they have put a cap on energies they will not cap the ones you get while visiting. (Straight from the CV forum).

You can collect any rents from any buildings since they are a huge waste of energy as well since most rents pay little to nothing anyway. Next up will be watering crops or signaling ships to come back to port. In my opinion the biggest waste of a trip to a neighbor’s town, is sending tourists to visit shops. On occasion it might give you collectible items (which are pretty worthless to begin with.) Do I really need 80 goats?

All of this gets thrown out the window if goals are involved. Your goals take precedence over everything. Always try and remember you are at your neighbors to help them out. If possible zig zag around what you are clicking unless it just isn’t feasible, in which case do what you can. I will be the first to admit that I have clicked on the wrong thing at one of my neighbors before, especially if I have one eye open at 3am when I am doing so. LOL. Be careful when chopping down tree’s. if they look like part of the landscape then leave them be. If they look like junk bunched in a corner? Use your discretion while chopping.

Next on tap has to do with gifting and requests. I never and I mean never deny a neighbors request for anything. We rely on our neighbors to move forward in this game so never deny a request. If everyone abides by this rule of thumb you will always have what you need.

Before i forget. Now when you visit a neighbors town, the majority of the time you now have the option to give energy to that neighbor. When they collect it from their profile page, they will get 3+ energy. The least they could do, huh?

That is basically it for now, if you have anything to add then comment or message me for an update, in which I will.

For all of my neighbors I just want to say you all rock! I have the best neighbors in the game.

Franchises; Accept or Reject

This has got to be the number one most ridiculous thing in this game. You drop your franchise on an open lot with one of your neighbors and then it sits in limbo forever. This has got to stop. Whenever you place a franchise you are debited your coins IMMEDIATELY. So then your neighbor decides not to use your franchise but instead another one. That is fine but REJECT the others first so those can get their coins back. I don’t know if they are just scared to reject or just don’t give a crap. Most of the time this comes from smaller level players but we still see it happen all the time…

Just reject it right away so your neighbors get their coins back. Look CV players I am a good neighbor to all of mine and I never say no to a request because we all need neighbors to make this game work and franchising is very, very important. So please reject the business if that is not what you want. Personally I am just deleting neighbors that will not cooperate as they are deadbeats anyway…

Thanks for letting me vent!
